Earning the trust of readers, adapting to new technologies, investing in multiple revenue streams, fighting back against the duopoly… these are just a few of the many challenges that digital media companies are currently facing. Whether you’re looking for innovative solutions for your digital strategy or want to learn from the best of the best in the industry, this year’s Digiday Publishing Summit is the event that you don’t want to miss!

Taking place in Key Biscayne, Florida, the annual summit brings together innovative media companies and leading technology providers to collaborate, learn from one another, and mold the future of the industry for the betterment of today’s digital audience. With so many meetings and activities packed into just three days, your schedule can be pretty overwhelming without a focus. Here is a list of highlights that you can plan your time around to ensure an impactful and worthwhile experience.

1. 8-minute meetings (or should we say speed dates)

Traveling around to meet prospective partners all over the world can be very expensive and time-consuming. That’s why Digiday’s signature 8-minute meetings are the perfect solution for publishers and potential technology providers to meet under one roof, where they can quickly discuss partnership potential based on current challenges and needs. With all kinds of quality choices presented on the table, both sides are able to find their perfect match and make important business decisions onsite.

2. Speaking sessions from industry pioneers

With 300 participants from legacy media companies, digital native brands, and everyone in between, the Digiday speaking session line-up does not disappoint. You will hear from the likes of Atlantic Media’s president about their recent brand refresh, the CRO at the Outline on creative content production techniques, appealing content, and the Publisher from Mic’s thoughts on the rapid visual revolution in journalism. We’re also looking forward to the Cocktails & Conversations session hosted by representatives from Littlethings, National Geographic, and CBSi where they’ll talk about the ‘pivot to video’ trend and the importance of multiplatform publishing.Looking to create more video? 3. Morning yoga and volleyball tournament on the beach? Yes please!

It’s not a “bleisure” trip without the “pleasure!” Have no free time plans in mind yet? Digiday Publishing Summit has organized morning yoga sessions and a volleyball tournament on the beach, which is open for everyone to join. Our sales reps Ido, Jonathan and William happen to be beach volleyball pros - so make sure to challenge them to a match!

4. Wind down with a drink, or a few… at After Hours Hangout

Attending full-day meetings can be very stressful. A few drinks will definitely help you freshen up and relieve the stress. It’s also a great opportunity to network and mingle with intelligent people, or continue fun conversations with your new friends! We’re personally looking forward to those frozen mojitos at Dune Bar.

5. “Five Things We’ve Learned from Digiday Events” Recap Video

For the past few Digiday events, the organizer had been leveraging the Wibbitz video creation platform to produce a short engaging recap video to sum up five biggest takeaways - because with all this learning in such little time, it’s always helpful to have a refresher. Look out for it on the last day of the event, and share it away!

Make sure to say hi to Wibbitz biz-dev reps Ido, Jonathan, and William if plan on attending! They’ll be more than happy to chat with you about your video strategy (especially over a delicious frozen mojito).
